Ductulator
The ductulator is an HVAC design engineers best friend as it is a tool that can give you so much information in just a single turn! If you know how much airflow (CFM) is going through a duct, you can use this to size rectangular or round duct based on a specific friction rate (rule of thumb is 0.1" wc / 100' of duct). This tool is mainly used for sizing ductwork during the HVAC design for construction documents, but it doesn't end there. You can also use the ductulator to calculate the velocity (FPM) of air going through a duct which can be very useful if sound is a concern! Low and medium pressure loss ductwork typically has a velocity of 1500-2000 fpm, while high pressure loss ductwork usually falls in the range of 2000-3500 FPM.
